I received Dr. Cornel West’s memoir as a gift. When I received the book I was enthused because Dr. West is one of the most brilliant minds in African American culture. Not only is West a New York Times best-selling author, but he is a highly respected and admired public figure. Dr. West consistently provides thought-provoking points of view of which I plan on studying for insight with regard to topics such as philosophy, race, politics and life. There are things you can learn from school and text books, and there are lessons you can learn from people. West is a great person to listen to for illumination and education.
