The Dharma Bums By Jack Kerouac | BUY
I want to read this book primarily because I’ve always been fascinated by the beatnik culture. It was an intersection of the chic, intellectual, bohemian and creative lifestyle. I would venture to say that they were the pre-hip hop generation snobs. It was a culture that was often imitated, condemned and stereotyped. Being a part of the “Beat” culture was not something you could identify with, it was just something that you were. It could not be contrived or invented; if it was not organic you were a poser. Here at Moderate Snobbery we encourage you to live as you are and live with purpose, it’s your originality that makes you a snob–not a dress code or manner of behavior.
